About Joysa
Joysa is a personal book library app for iPhone. It is not an ebook reader. There is no Joysa account and no Joysa server. This policy is published by [DEVELOPER LEGAL NAME].
Information Stored on Your Device
Your library stays on your iPhone. That includes titles, authors, ISBNs, tags, ratings, reviews, series, article links, cover images, appearance settings, and backups you save inside the app.
Joysa does not upload this library to a Joysa server.
Book Lookup
When you add a book or scan an ISBN barcode, Joysa may send the title, author, and/or ISBN to Open Library (Internet Archive) to fill in metadata and download a cover.
If Open Library does not return a cover, Joysa shows a color placeholder. You can replace it with an image you choose from Photos.
Camera and Photos
Joysa uses the camera only to scan an ISBN barcode. The live image is not saved and is not uploaded. The decoded ISBN may be sent to Open Library as described above.
If you pick a cover from Photos, Joysa copies it onto your device. That photo is not uploaded by Joysa.
Article Links
If you save a link next to a book, Joysa may load that page to show a title on the card. Tapping the card opens the link in Safari. Joysa does not operate those websites.
Third-Party Services
- Open Library / Internet Archive — book metadata and cover images, only when you add, scan, restore, or refresh a cover.
- Apple — iOS, the App Store, Photos picker, camera, Files, and the share sheet.
- Websites you choose — only the article URLs you save.
Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their services.
Analytics, Advertising and Tracking
Joysa has no advertising, no analytics SDK, no tracking SDK, and no advertising identifiers. Joysa does not sell your information.
Data Retention and Deletion
On-device data stays until you delete a book, use Delete library in Settings, or delete the Joysa app.
A Save copy kept inside Joysa is removed if you delete the app. Files you already shared to Files, iCloud, or another app stay where you put them until you delete those files.
Open Library may keep logs of lookup requests under its own policy.
Your Privacy Rights
You can view and edit your books in the app, export a backup, delete books, or delete the library. Because there is no Joysa account or server, we cannot see your library from our side.
